Battery Storage · Launching soon

Store your energy, use it when it matters

A home battery stores electricity — from your solar panels or from cheap off-peak tariffs — so you can use it in the evening when power is most expensive. It's the key to getting the most from solar. Launching soon alongside our solar service.

Battery storage is launching with our solar service

We're finishing MCS certification and will offer battery storage shortly, on its own or paired with solar. Register below and we'll be first to let you know. The information here is general guidance, not an offer of installation yet.

The basics

What a home battery actually does

Solar panels generate most of their electricity in the middle of the day — often when nobody's home to use it. Without a battery, that surplus gets exported for a few pence per kWh. A battery captures it instead, so the energy you generate at noon powers your home at 7pm, when grid electricity costs the most — and using your own power is worth roughly twice as much as exporting it, which is what makes a battery so valuable.

Even without solar, a battery pays off with the right tariff: charge it overnight on a cheap off-peak rate, then run your home from it during the pricey daytime hours.

Spreading the cost

Like solar, a battery is an investment that pays back through lower bills. When we launch, we'll be able to discuss ways to spread the cost with monthly payments so you can start benefiting sooner. Battery (with solar) also currently benefits from 0% VAT.

Is a battery worth it for you?

  • You have or are getting solar — a battery dramatically increases how much of your own generation you actually use.
  • You're out during the day — store the daytime solar for when you're home in the evening.
  • You want price protection — a battery buffers you against peak-rate electricity and price spikes.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Battery storage launches alongside our solar service, once MCS certification completes. Register your interest and we'll be in touch.
No. With a suitable off-peak tariff, a battery can charge overnight on cheap electricity and power your home during expensive peak hours — though it pairs best with solar.
It depends on your daily usage and whether you have solar. When we launch, we'll size it properly to your home rather than sell you more than you need.
